When should I apply for Licensure by endorsement in the state of California? Im a current RN in Texas and about to make the move to California in 3 months. How long should this process take?
It took me 12 months so I finally flew to Sacramento to their office…seems impossible to anyone on the phone. Turns out I had fallen through the cracks, and I got my license number on the spot! If you haven’t received by the time you need I recommend visiting the BON office in Sacramento.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ! California BON is non responsive. The board does not even respond to director of other BON’s when they attempt to get licensure verifications.
I have requested a way to renew my expired CA license - the online says I am out of date - no way to say I am still licensed in 2 states, can;t get a phone call answered, cannot get an email answered nor does the director answer when you complain directly.
Apply as soon as you can! Send everything as soon as possible and at the same time. All transcripts, fingerprints, etc. If you send things at different times, it can take "up to 8 weeks" for them to find whatever you sent and attach it to your file. Also apply for temporary licensure at the same time so you can at least find work in the meantime.
It took me 7 months to get a license in California! Good luck!
It can take several months. I applied when I first started traveling and was given a temporary license until the permanent one came in. It took me 3 months to get.
At least six months prior and see if you are missing any CEU that California may require. California is always slow and burdened by inadequate staffing. You'll never get through by phone lol!
Now it takes several months! And you have to send in FBI fingerprints from your state because you are not in CA. If you plan to go there in the next week you can do it in state electronically.
Yes, the process can be fast, just do the fingerprint online at identogo
You should apply now, it takes at least 3-4months to get your license here in California. Their Board of Nursing goes through their applications by hand.
It takes approximately 1 to 3 months for the Board to conclude the process of endorsement.
