What are ways as a new grad to get a job in my specialty. I currently am working as an RN in LDRP but am having trouble getting a new job as I’ve had to relocate. I understand I have only 5 months of experience but I still am discouraged.

You may have to go back and work in med-surg in a hospital near you and wait for a position to open up in maternity. It's not a great option but if you find that they won't hire you because of a lack of experience it's a stepping stone to get where you want to be. Sorry, wish I had a better answer. What state are you looking to work in? Deb

With just 5 months of working, you may not be considered an experienced nurse in this specialty.
If you are honest that you like the specialty and want to be hired into this type of unit, you may find a position that you want. LDRP is not the universal model for OB nursing, so being open to mother-baby or L&D will help you expand your search.
