I’m an experienced ICU RN (Neuro, MS, Trauma, CV) and we are looking to move to Connecticut or Massachusetts to be near family. Any hospitals to avoid? Any you love?
Hello. If you choose to move to Massachusetts, there are many hospitals to choose from. There are well-known, world class institutions, such as the MassGeneralBrigham organization, which includes Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, to name just a few. Boston Medical Center provides much in the way of opportunity, as it is the Level 1 trauma hospital for all of Nee England. I would do due diligence in searching online for many of the hospitals, depending on which city/town you wish to live and work, specifically, and go from there. If you consider Travel Nursing in your specialty and live within at least 50 miles from a facility, you will earn significantly more. In addition to working bedside as an ICU Nurse, you may wish to look into other opportunities (Research, etc.) where your skills and knowledge may be also utilized.
Connecticut has many hospitals to choose from, depending on what part of the state your in. Hartford Hospital is ALWAYS hiring, Yale New Haven, St Francis hospital/ Trinity Healthcare, Eastern Connecticut Healthcare Network, Bristol Hospital, and Hospital for Special Care in New Britain Ct..
