It's great that you're considering returning to work! Since you can't work 12-hour shifts, you might want to explore part-time or per diem nursing positions in settings that require less demanding hours, like clinics, schools, or home healthcare. Additionally, consider updating your nursing skills and certifications, networking with former colleagues, and reaching out to local healthcare facilities for job opportunities. It's important to find a role that aligns with your physical abilities and interests. Good luck with your job search!

Your daily exercise routine should keep you well on the floor with energy and no obesity. Your health is número uno. I love to go to work to run around and stay fit. Keep moving.
The supervisors wondered the reason I took the older nurses to work with me instead of none. The older nurses were steady but slower; the counts were correct and there was progress without diversion. Things are calm and proper with older nurses if there are not medical issues with BP, diabetes...
There is a real nursing shortage after 2020-2023. The nurses had their guts ripped out and then just replaced without proper recovery.
The nursing boards may tell you to piss off you are not getting a compact license as you lack current hours and got take a refresher course that you may teach. Just impede your nurses for months even though they kept their studies and have decades of skills. Bye Bye

You might consider working home health visits. More flexible scheduling, allows you to set a schedule that doesn’t drain you.

Try working at an outpatient clinic. It’s less strenuous. Our services are needed at many urgent care settings.
Best of luck.

Have you looked into locum tenens work? I was a PMHNP & stopped working at 80 Before that I worked several years at facilities that needed mostly temporary work (including some corrections). I could work where & when something turned up that appealed to me. The pay is excellent; although travel is usually necessary, the staffing agency picks up the tab for hotels, renal cars & other expenses. One agency I dealt with is Staff Care, which was good. Another is located in GA & was even better, but they have a new name now, which I don't recall. (They used to be called Locum Tenens).
Best of luck in finding work that suits you well.

Can always do per diem, part time, or help at a doctors office. Another is choosing rehab centers and other psy fields that offer 8 hour shifts. :)

Where do ziI sign up to learn coding?

I would suggest you become a nurse coder. Just take the coding class: it's about billing and making sure the CPT and ICD codes are correct so the facility or doctor can be correctly reimbursed from the insurance companies. Coding is a big thing now and nurse coders get paid a lot. You can make your own hours and it's usually remote
