I worked as a nurse in Florida. There is no limit there they can give you as many patients they care to. Ca. Has strict nurse patient ratios that must be followed, good luck in Fla. You might have 8 on the day shift. One time I had 18 primary care on night shift as we were short staffed.

It was 1:6-7 at what was formerly Weusthoff Hospital on 3 east. It might be different under Steward, but I doubt it.

It was 1:6 at Cape Canaveral Hospital 2nd floor (Health First).

It's factory work. Don't do it. You'll hate it.

It depends on how understaffed your unit/hospital is, but I am on a high acuity med surg at a Level 1 Trauma and always have 6. It used to be 4-5. Sometimes on my unit they’ve gotten up to 10 at night and they’ve tried to give me 8 and I’ve refused my assignment. My unit is almost PCU level though, I think other med surge units get up to 8. All I can say is protect your license. Good luck!!

The ratio is usually 6:1. You can apply with Healthtrust agency. I am PRN with them.

Patient ratio depends on hospitals and acuity of patients. Normally 4 to 5 patients.

You are ready for a big pay cut??? I did a virtual nurse pilot for a tele/medsurg unit and the ration was 4:1,5:1 in Orlando

The ratio is as many as they feel like giving you to one.
Yeah, not even joking.

You’re gonna hate nursing in Florida especially after Cali.

It depend on the company. Medsurg tele 5:1 but some hospital force you to take 6-7.
I will suggest you to take a position with healthtrust workforce solutions for a better pay. When I moved in Florida last I took a pay cut of $12/hr. But 6 months later a friend refer to health trust Workfoce solutions I got back to my normal base pay.
PCU 4/5:1
Med tele 5/6:1

6-8

Orlando here. Ideally PCU is 4:1. We are currently running 5-6:1. Medsurg/Medtele is 6-7:1. Charge nurses are having to take pts.

I will be moving to Space Coast around August as well and this is what worries me with the ratio. I just started applying and already scheduled for interview next week. I will find out what ratio will be in the facility that I applied. It would be tough to get more than 6!
