I’m a New Grad RN and recently started applying for jobs. What should a wear to my interview? Are scrubs appropriate or should it be professional attire. Also what questions should I expect to be asked during the interview?
Hello!
I always wear a dress or skirt and nice shirt- little heal. It’s important that you look like you’re taking this seriously!!
Be happy and upbeat! You’re glad to b there and u want this job. Questions they typically ask -
1) why do u wanna work here
2) best thing about u
3)worst thing about u - don’t actually say the worst thing - say something like u aren’t good at delegating or your a prefectionist
4) describe a difficult situation and how u resolved it
My personal thing- pick 3 favorite stories about u at work and crowbar them into the interview - something about u going above and beyond
Always ask how much $ and have a number in line - your valuable treat yourself like it
Lastly- ask what’s the next step
Good luck! And welcome!!
Professional attire is best or possibly scrubs. NO FLIP FLOPS!! may be asked what are your attributes or best qualities, why do you want the job, what can you bring to the job, why do you want this job, what do you feel you could improve on-yourself-or something like that question. You can state what department you would like to work in but be open/get your foot in the door. then can change.
Unless you already work there, I would advise to business/professional attire. This is usually a great first impression. If you are already employed at this hospital and happen to interview after shift, explain beforehand that you may be in your scrubs.
I would wear business casual or professional. NO open toed shoes and nothing revealing or short.
Always wear professional attire. Scrubs are not acceptable.
