Not where I worked as a CRN. You have to provide care for the patient which requires hands on, draw blood and other procedures as outlined in the protocol.

Yes. Look to the job descriptions on employment sites. Research your interests via web sites. You can see what credentials or experience is required in many different areas. Think of companies such as Stryker, Baxter, Siemens, tech companies, etc. Align yourself in a position with transplant, cardiac, oncology, for example. Gain experience and this might put you on a path, open doors, transition you to the research side. Many require higher education: MSN, but not all.
