Healthcare Policy Navigator
For Nurses
Nurses are uniquely positioned to influence the future of healthcare. The challenges nurses face—whether related to mental health, workplace safety, or expanding education and skills—are deeply influenced by policy decisions made at all levels of government, and by licensing boards. But what if there was a way to not only stay informed about these policies but also influence them?
We believe that every healthcare worker deserves a safe, supportive work environment, access to mental health support, and opportunities to grow their skills and education. With more than one million nurses in our community, our mission commits us to helping healthcare professionals live better lives and find and do their best work.
We launched the Healthcare Policy Navigator for Nurses, a tool designed to empower nurses and healthcare leaders to stay informed and influence the policies that matter most to them.

Prioritizing nurses’ mental health is vital for maintaining a resilient healthcare workforce. Despite a 6% improvement in nurses’ mental health, burnout remains the top reason nurses leave the profession.
Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act

Workplace Safety Resources
The American Nurses Association (ANA) offers guidelines for healthcare organizations to prevent workplace violence, promote safe patient handling, manage stress and fatigue, and improve ergonomics, helping nurses stay safe and healthy on the job.
The importance of investing in education
With over 1 million new registered nurses needed by 2030, investing in nursing education is critical to building a strong, diverse workforce that can meet the growing demands of healthcare.
The Stop Nurse Shortages Act
The Stop Nurse Shortages Act introduced on May 8th, 2024, would establish a $10 million a year grant program to increase support for accelerated nursing degree programs to address the nursing shortage. Nursing schools would be able to use these funds to:
