You will learn why there has been an increase in these patients coming to the ED in recent years, and the unique needs these patients have. In the 2019 National Pediatric Readiness Project, it was identified that less than half of our nation’s EDs are “ready” to care for pediatric patients, so you will learn how to devise a plan to improve your own ED’s response to pediatric patients with behavioral health needs.
